TRANSFORMERS (EDM)
INTRODUCTION
The transformer is one of the principal components of the Medium Voltage/Low Voltage transformation cabin and therefore its choice is very important and depends on technical and economic criteria. The transformers are divided in three categories:
- Oil transformers
- Resin transformers
- Air transformers
The resin transformers are the most used compared to the oil transformers because they are environment friendly and reduce the fire and the pollution risk. Compared to the oil transformers the resin are safer and more flexible during its use and the absence of cooling fluids reduces the maintenance costs. Moreover the EDM transformers are an optimal opportunity for energy saving.
